Former European Tour #1 and 14 time winner on Tour will become Ambassador and coach for the World Amateur Tour.
The Northern Irishman achieved a wonderful amateur career in his early years, winning the Boy's Amateur Championship and the English Open Amateur Championship, joining the Walker Cup Team at the age of 17.
The most notable achievement of Rafferty's professional career came in 1989, when he finished top of the European Tour Order of Merit. In total he won seven times on the European Tour between 1989 and 1993 and was also a member of the victorious Ryder Cup team in 1989.
Rafferty now plays mostly on the Senior European Tour tournaments, and is involved in broadcasting and Golf days organization.
He will be in charge of UK players during the Tour, sharing his best advice and stories as a professional golfer in order to help them reach their best level.
Now in its third year, the World Amateur Tour, a 36-hole tournament organized in the same standards as the biggest international professional competitions is thrilled to have such an amazing player amongst its ambassadors.

The 2018 Tour consists of six tournaments to be played on some of the most beautiful and exclusive courses in the world, offering amateur players the unique experience of the pressure and adrenaline of professional tournaments . The next two legs will be played at the Punta Espada Golf Club in Punta Cana (March 28th to 30th) and the West Cliffs Golf Club in Lisbon Portugal (May 3rd to 6th).
