From Taiwan To Suburbia USA
Infiniti Golf's Eric Yeh Achieves The American Dream
West Chicago, IL - Eric Yeh, President of Infiniti Golf, epitomizes the
American dream. He was born and raised in Taiwan and came to the U.S. as a
young man to get an education. Upon graduating from Elmhurst College he set
out to change the perception of golfers, one player at a time, with the
inception of Infiniti Golf. Twenty-three years later, Yeh continues to
bring progressive, quality golf clubs to the marketplace fit specifically
to individuals.
At twenty years old Yeh made the transatlantic move from Taipei to America,
alone. An older sister preceded Yeh's arrival state-side and provided him
with a couch for a few weeks in Rochester, NY. After a brief stay in
Houston and a few weeks with an uncle in Elmhurst, Yeh settled in at
Elmhurst College. Yeh graduated with a degree in business, and a minor in
psychology.
Yeh was introduced as a youngster to golf, and enjoyed a competitive spirit
throughout high school and college. Upon graduating, Yeh felt that the
there was something missing from the golf market, equipment that fit a
player's swing. He wanted equipment that would help the player enjoy golf,
not make them feel like they had to change their swing to fit the clubs.
'Everyone is different, why should I buy equipment made for everyone but
me,' became Yeh's philosophy.
Infiniti Golf took shape. Yeh felt it was vital to custom fit every club in
the bag. Not just focusing on the shaft flex or length of a club, but more
importantly customizing the face angle of a driver, along with the loft and
lie of each iron. Every player needs to have the proper clubhead, correct
shaft, and right grip for the ultimate fit.
Luckily, when Yeh started Infiniti Golf he had an inside edge. "I have the
same background as the employees at the foundries in China. I speak their
language and I know the culture. We work together to make sure every piece
of equipment that ships is of the utmost quality," said Yeh.
Infiniti Golf is different from larger golf manufacturers as we use our own
staff members, metallurgists and engineers to supervise all overseas
production. With trips to China sometimes five or six times a year, there
is direct communication between Yeh and the people hand
making/milling/manufacturing Infiniti Golf equipment. "We talk, e-mail, or
video conference almost every day," said Yeh.
Every club in a professional golfer's bag is built specifically to fit
their game and golf swing. Infiniti Golf believes that every player should
have that same benefit. Golf clubs should be built based on the
individual's golf swing, not based on the golfer's gender or age. In a true
custom fitting environment, there is no man, woman, junior, senior or
disabled player. There is only one concern, the individual's swing pattern.
The club fitters' job is to observe, analyze and determine what head,
shaft, and grip combination is best suited for the individual and have
their clubs built accordingly. Along with more than 200 professional club
fitters, Infiniti Golf produces the best performing golf clubs.
