AHEAD Launches Eco-Friendly Headwear Collection

NEW BEDFORD, Mass.- Following on the heels of the successful

launch of its eco-friendly apparel line, AHEAD continues to expand

 its commitment to the environment by offering a new line of

eco-friendly headwear for 2009. The AHEAD green headwear

collection is made from 100 percent PET recycled fabric and

100 percent organic cotton.

"As a major manufacturer in the industry, we feel strongly the need

to do our part in offering products that are environmentally friendly

to help better our lives for the future," said Jeff Waller, national

sales director. "We are starting to see more heightened awareness

by retailers and consumers for green products and we anticipate the

category will show significant growth in 2009. Our eco-friendly apparel

line has had a strong sell-in period and we expect similar success for

the new headwear line."

The headwear collection offers two new entries using 100 percent PET recycled fabric, made from recycled soda bottles. Both the PET cap and visor have the same suggested retail as AHEAD's traditional cotton twill products (between $15-25).

AHEAD Green Recycled PET Fabric Cap - a six-panel unstructured classic cut and fit with Velcro closure tabs on the back for one size fits all. The cap comes in 10 colors for 2009 - navy, cobalt, dark green, deep red, lime, nectar, khaki, straw, bone and chalk white.

AHEAD Green Recycled PET Fabric Visor - a low rise open crown visor with a Velcro close tab. The visor is available in white only.

The second collection offers a cap and visor made with 100 percent organic cotton and colored with eco-friendly reactive dyes.

AHEAD Green Cap Lip - a six-panel unstructured classic cut and fit, one size fits all with Velcro closure tab on the back of the cap. The cap lip has a contrasting color to give it an attractive two-tone look. Available in five color combinations; black/white, navy/bone, cobalt/navy, bone/navy and white/black. The suggested retail is between $21-$25

AHEAD Green Visor Lip - a low-rise open crown visor with a Velcro close tab. The visor, like the cap, sports a two-tone look with a contrasting color on the lip. The visor is available in two color combinations; navy/bone and white/black. The suggested retail of $16-$20.

The AHEAD eco-friendly headwear collection can be customized using traditional embroidery or the revolutionary new ornamentation offerings such as the vintage label, woven appliqué label, the woven appliqué label with embroidery, or the popular rubber appliqué label.
