True Temper Unveils New GS95 Lightweight Steel Shafts
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The No. 1 shaft manufacturer in
the world, True Temper Sports has unveiled its GS95 shaft - an all-new
super lightweight steel shaft with a unique 'graphite-like' feel. After
gaining sweeping popularity during its debut in Japan, the U.S. demand
for GS95 has been extremely strong.
Designed to perform for players of all ability, GS95 is easy to swing
and gives a softer feel often associated with composite shaft designs.
Despite the smooth feel in a golfer's hands, the GS95 shaft unfailingly
continues to deliver the stability and consistency of steel.
"We're very excited to bring this new lightweight shaft to the U.S.
market. The GS95 design delivers the shot performance and consistency
players expect from a steel shaft, while providing a feel that sets it
apart from every other shaft on the market," says Scott Hennessy,
president and CEO of True Temper Sports. "True Temper is the world's
leading golf shaft manufacturer and our designers spent years
correlating and analyzing the latest research data on material and
structural design to develop this unique shaft. GS95 truly offers the
best feel in steel."
With an innovative Speed Step design, the GS95's constant weight design
features a responsive tip and slimmer butt diameter for an optimized
grip. GS95 increases the ball's initial launch angle and maximizes its
peak trajectory, while simultaneously enhancing the player's feel with
every shot. Weighing in at 95 grams, GS95 is available in parallel
irons (S- and R-flex) and tapered tip irons (S- and R-Flex). GS95 is
available as a stock option with Mizuno's new MX-1000 Hot Metal Irons
and will be available through True Temper's distributor, retailer and
OEM custom programs beginning October 1, 2009.
The Mizuno MX-1000 Hot Metal irons were developed with a high COR and
massive MOI for amazing distance and forgiveness. The Hot Metal
construction of the MX-1000 is created by plasma welding a thin, hot,
ES230 maraging steel face to a high tech stainless steel body. This
exotic face material delivers COR numbers that reach the legal limit,
resulting in incredible distance for your iron shots, while Hollow
Technology construction provides unmatched forgiveness and an easy,
high ball flight.
