Golf Workout Program
By: Mike Schlacter
Do you want
to improve your golf swing? Most people realize that if they have
stronger muscles then they can get better but knowing how to actually
achieve this is a different matter altogether. You could try a golf
workout program. These are designed specifically to exercise the parts
of the body that you use when you play golf and tend to focus on the
core muscles.
These are the muscles that you use when you swing
and as you know, this is the most important part of the game. It might
sound more like something women do – a workout program but it is nothing
like yoga or aerobics but a training program which will strengthen your
muscles making you able to hit the ball much harder and more accurately
and surely that has got to be worth it!
Once you have decided to go ahead with doing a
workout for golfers program then you need to decide which one to choose.
There are quite a few sources of workouts you can probably find them in
magazines and on the Internet but you can also buy videos and DVD’s.
When looking at them make sure that you choose one
by a qualified professional so that you know they know what they are
talking about. Make sure that it has got good reviews as well – there is
no better critic than other players and if they say that it works for
them then chances are that it will work for you.
Lastly make sure that it is a workout that you
think you will do and keep doing. It is a waste of time and money if you
buy something which you just do once. See if you can see a sample of the
type of exercises on it or try to get an idea from the reviews and
descriptions before you buy it.
Once you have found the right program for you and
bought it, you need to be able to make sure that you use it. It is a
good idea to try to make a habit of it so that it fits into your daily
routine.
Once you start fitting it in then you will do it
regularly and make sure that you keep your muscles strong, flexible and
at their best for your golf game. Think about what time of day you would
be more likely to do it, whether getting up earlier might be better for
you or fitting it in your lunch break or evening. Also decide how often
you want to do it and make sure that you stick to it for a month.
Once you have done this you will have formed a
good habit and you will find it easier to continue doing it. You should
also start to see the results in the way that you play and the fact that
you are getting a better swing and playing a better all round game and
that should encourage you to keep on with your golf workout program.
